Shulim Vogelmann

Shulim Vogelmann was born in 1978 in Florence. At the age of 18 he left Italy for Israel where he graduated in History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Then, back to Italy he published Mentre la città bruciava, his first novel, that won the following literary prizes: Premio Città di Bari, Premio Sandro Onofri, Premio Amici di Edoardo, Premio Giornalisti della cronaca Milanese.

The book was also shortlisted in many other prizes: Adei Wizo, Premio Chianti, Premio Berto, Premio Città di Gaeta, Premio Primo Romanzo, and Premio Tondelli.

At the present time Shulim Vogelmann translates novels from Hebrew into Italian, works as an editor at Giuntina Publishing House and he is curator of the International Jewish Literature Festival that is held in Rome every year.
